Get some short lengths of timber about 1 long 2 by about 6 is ideal but you can use all sorts. The easy solution is to keep a few thick plates of steel laying around i prefer 12 x12 at minimum to set underneath of the jack stands. Throw a piece of wood under your jack stands to keep them from digging into your driveway. If supporting one corner of the vehicle place the jack stand under the jacking point and adjust the height locking it in place with the pin or pawl as applicable.
